This is the only snake species that I've seen in the yard so far.
These snakes are ovoviviparous, which means that they bear live young rather than lay eggs. Eight to twelve young are born in the fall.
I haven't tried it, but they are supposed to be one of the best garter snakes to keep in captivity.
